What is the Dark Forest in Poly Loot?

The Dark Forest is the area the V3 update added on October 3, 2026 at 17:00 UTC. The developer’s patch notes are titled “V3 | Dark Forest Update”, and the game’s Roblox title carried a [DARK FOREST] tag at launch.

It was the biggest single addition the game had seen at that point: 5 creatures, a world boss on a timer, a raid-style rift boss, a 10-room dungeon, 4 quests, 4 armor sets, 6 weapons, a fourth elemental sword and a new potion. Everything below comes from those official notes unless it is marked otherwise.

How do you get to the Dark Forest?

On foot, through the Jungle. The notes do not describe the route, but Dannie walks it on camera: head for the new opening between the enchanting station and the tier station, keep going down past the gorillas, and stay on that path. Dannie calls it “pretty far away” (unverified).

The update also added a World Map that shows the whole island, its bosses and every quest you have not finished. You can fast-travel from it to Spawn or the Jungle, plus Beach Town since V4 — there is no travel point in the Dark Forest itself, so the last stretch is always walked. The map is a quest reward rather than a default feature: you get it from Night Scout Hale’s Long Patrol, listed below.

What creatures are in the Dark Forest, and what do they drop?

Five, split cleanly by which gear they drop:

Two resources are gathered rather than fought for: Dark Wood, from chopping dark trees, and Glowcaps, which you pick. Since V3, every enemy in the game also drops coins on every kill, so farming here pays out steadily even when the gear does not drop. Which bosses are in the Dark Forest?

Three, and they work in three different ways:

Roblox’s badge data shows how they rank in practice. By October 4, about 16 hours after launch, the Cursed Owl badge had been earned 3,059 times, the Voodoo Doll badge 2,306 times and the Archmage Vex badge 939 times.

What gear comes from the Dark Forest?

Four armor sets, each with a permanent bonus once you complete it in the Index:

Those bonuses are far larger than anything before V3 — the Jungle and Cobra sets were listed at +15% Defense and +20% Health — and the same notes say every older Index set “now gives a much bigger boost”, without publishing the new numbers.

The new weapons are the Emerald Hammer, Potion Spear, Dark Dagger, Dark Axe, Cursed Sword and Cursed Greataxe. Two rarer ones sit behind the bosses: the Godly Soul Scythe at 1 in 250 per Dark Dungeon clear, and the Secret Shadow Katana at 0.01% from Archmage Vex. What quests are in the Dark Forest?

Finishing them also unlocks four of the ten new titles: Pathfinder, Namekeeper, Archivist and Worldwalker. Pip’s reward is the practical one to do first, because inventory space otherwise costs Robux. The quests page covers the older NPC lines.

What has changed here since V3?

The next area, the Beach, opened on October 24, 2026, so this is no longer the end of the map. Until November 7, the Dark Forest also takes part in Lootaween: you can trick or treat at houses here for Candy Corn, and catch ghosts with the Ghost Net. Daily quests now come from the area you are in, so playing here gives you Dark Forest dailies.

What is Health Potion II?

A stronger heal you craft from Glowcaps, Health Potions and an Epic Shard. One potion restores 40% of your health. It matters beyond healing: the reworked Golden Apple recipe now takes 8 Apples, 3 Health Potion II and 20 Gold Ore, so Glowcaps are worth picking every time you pass them.
