What are the Poly Loot best stats to level first?
The Poly Loot best stats pick for almost every player is Damage. Each level-up asks you to choose between Damage, Defense and Health, and the creators who explain their choice lead with Damage because enemies die before they can hit back. Move points into Defense or Health once a specific area or boss keeps killing you.
That answer comes from comparing five separate playthroughs, not from a single guide. Here is what each creator picked and why:
| Creator | Early picks | Reasoning in the video |
|---|---|---|
| ItzVexo | Damage first | More damage means you “one tap” enemies and rarely get hit |
| Gravy Live | Damage on every level-up | Wanted more power for the King Chicken |
| ItsChalls | Damage, with Defense as the alternative | Recommends “damage or defense” at the stat prompt |
| AccelToWin | Health once, then Damage | Switched to Damage on the next level-up |
| Radex Tips | Damage or Defense | Damage clears faster; Defense adds survivability |
Radex Tips follows the ItsChalls video almost line for line, so treat those two as one opinion. That still leaves three independent creators choosing Damage first.
What stat choices do you get on level-up?
Every level-up opens a stat prompt with three options. ItsChalls reads it on screen as “pick a stat to increase”, and the playthroughs show these choices:
- Damage. Raises how hard you hit. Every creator above takes it early.
- Defense. Named by ItsChalls and Radex Tips as the survival option.
- Health. AccelToWin’s first pick. ItzVexo says you “do need health sooner or later”, even on a Damage-first plan.
Since the Beach update you can pick x1, x10, x100 or Max on the Stats page, so large batches of points go in quickly. That makes it easier to overspend, so decide on the split first.
Stat points are only one power source. Weapon upgrades, tier rerolls and armor drops raise your numbers too. The tier scrolls guide and the beginner guide cover those systems.
Why do most players put their points into Damage?
Kill speed solves most early problems. ItzVexo’s argument is simple: if you do enough damage, you do not need much Health or Defense, because you defeat enemies before they land hits. In the same video a wolf lands only one hit on ItzVexo, a chicken goes down at level eight, and ItzVexo credits dodging plus more Damage for both.

Faster kills also mean faster levels. Each kill and quest turn-in pays XP, so a Damage-heavy build speeds up the whole Poly Loot leveling guide loop, not just combat.
When should you put points into Defense or Health?
Switch when survival, not kill speed, becomes the problem. The creators never give a fixed level for this. The pattern in their videos is that Damage carries early fights, and the trouble starts when a group of enemies or a boss out-damages you. Gravy Live went all-in on Damage and admitted mid-video that it was “probably not the wisest”, while AccelToWin started with Health and had a rough time with pigs anyway.
What the creators themselves say about the trade-off:
- Radex Tips: Damage speeds up your kills, and Defense is the pick when staying alive is the bigger problem.
- ItzVexo: Damage comes first, but you will need Health sooner or later.
- ItsChalls: Damage or Defense are both solid picks at the stat prompt.
Can you reset stats in Poly Loot?
Yes, but only through a paid item for now. The official developer product list includes Reset Point for 79 Robux, added on September 15, 2026. No free reset method or reset item from quests has been documented yet. A player asked under ItzVexo’s guide where to get stat reset scrolls, and nobody had an answer at the time of writing.
| Reset option | Cost | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Reset Point (developer product) | 79 Robux | Official, on sale since Sep 15, 2026 |
| Free reset or reset scroll | None documented | Not found in any source |
Until a free option shows up, treat every point as permanent unless you are willing to pay for the reset.
Which other bonuses work alongside your stats?
Several official passes and systems add power without using stat points:
- VIP (399 Robux): 1.25x XP, 1.25x gold, 10k coins and a name tag.
- Drop Luck (249 Robux): “Increase chances of rarer drops in animals.” This is the only luck effect listed in the official store data.
- Social Rewards (free): the official Update 1.5 notes give permanent Damage, Defense and Luck Boosts for joining the Discord and following, and Coin Boosts for joining the group and favoriting the game.
- Index sets (free): every completed set adds a permanent boost. The Jungle update’s sets launched at +12% Defense (Diamond), +15% Defense (Jungle) and +20% Health (Cobra), and V3’s Dark Forest sets are far bigger: +90% Defense (Emerald), +100% Defense (Dark), +175% Damage (Cursed) and +250% Health (Soul). V3 also raised every older set by an unpublished amount. The Beach sets go further: +110% Defense (Ruby), +120% Defense (Sea) and +300% Health (Crab).
- Enchantments: up to 2 per piece of gear. Regen I goes on armor and makes your health regenerate 5% faster. The abilities page covers enchanting.
- Extra Item Drop (499 Robux): adds one extra monster drop to the loot table.
The drops page explains how those drop passes interact with the Index drop chances, and lists every Index set.
