How does baking work in Poly Loot?
Step onto the circle outside either bakery. That starts baking — there are two bakeries, one in town and one in the jungle village, and either circle works. Each of the three recipes has its own ingredient list and its own set of instructions to follow while it bakes.
Timing is the part that can cost you. Overcook or undercook a batch and it burns, and the ingredients you put in are gone. Update 2.5, live since September 19, 2026, rebuilt this whole system; before it, Cake was a crafting-menu item.
What can you bake, and what does each one do?
| Recipe | What it does | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Banana Cookies | Heal you and give a speed boost | One tray gives you 8 |
| Banana Bread | Heals more than cookies | Pippa’s first order asks for 5 |
| Cake | Not stated | Oven only since Update 2.5; no longer craftable |
Cookies are the practical one to keep stocked: a single tray gives eight, they restore health, and the speed boost helps between fights. Banana Bread trades quantity for a stronger heal.
Two rules changed with the rework and are easy to miss:
- Cake is oven-only. It left the crafting menu entirely, so if you remember crafting one, that route is gone.
- Baking no longer counts towards crafting. Anything that tracks crafted items will not move when you bake, which matters if you are working through crafting goals from the mining guide.
The update also added 4 new baking achievements to complete.
Which quests need baked food?
Two NPCs, in two different places:
Dockhand Milo, in town. He asks you to bake a Cake for his river crew, and then to restock the bakery pantry. The notes do not say what he pays.
Gardener Pippa, in the jungle village. She has three orders, in this sequence:
- 5 Banana Bread
- 32 Banana Cookies
- Both at once
Every one of Pippa’s quests gives Tier Scrolls, and finishing her line gives a Godly Shard. That makes her the newest repeatable-looking source of scrolls outside bosses and the Merchant — see the tier scrolls guide for what to reroll with them.
Note the quantities before you start: 32 cookies is four full trays, and the third order wants bread and cookies together, so bank ingredients rather than baking to order. The quests page tracks every other NPC line in the game.
Where do the ingredients come from?
The notes name the recipes but not their ingredients, and bananas are not listed among any drop table the developer has published. Until that is posted, gather from the bakery menu in game: it shows each recipe’s requirements when you step onto the circle.
Gardener Pippa being in the jungle village — the same village as Trader Ken’s stall, covered on the enchants page — makes that village the most useful stop in the game right now, since you can hand in baking orders and buy enchant books in one trip.
What else changed in Update 2.5?
Baking was one of eleven sections in the patch notes. The same update added 18 enchantments, reworked how drops are picked up, and introduced parties, player profiles, titles and banners. The update log lists all of it with dates.
