Poly Loot Beach Bosses: Skullcrab and Captain Blackpowder

Which bosses are at the Beach?

Two, and they work in opposite ways. The Skullcrab is a world boss on a 20-minute timer, and it is where the gear comes from. Captain Blackpowder is a one-on-one duel in Beach Town at level 300, and he is where the Ability Runes come from. Both arrived with the V4 update on October 24, 2026. A third fight, the level 250 rift boss Abyssor, joined them in the Beach’s waters with V4.5.

What does the Skullcrab drop?

The notes list five items and one rare:

• Crab armor set, worth +300% Health once complete in the Index. That is the largest set bonus published so far, ahead of the Soul set’s +250% Health.
• Crab Katana and Crab Spear.
• Coral Axe, which Coral Knights also drop if you would rather farm those.
• Sea Twinblade Axe.
• Godly Crab Hammer, at 1 in 250.

No rates are published for the regular drops. Since the Dark Forest update the Index shows each chance with your luck already applied, so check there before you settle in; the drops page shows how to read it.

Can you respawn the Skullcrab?

Probably, for Robux. A Respawn Boss product (119 Robux) was added on October 24, 2026, and its description reads: “Skip the wait: the boss on the sign you picked comes back right away, for everyone on the server.” The whole server benefits, so someone else may buy it for you.

A second product created the same day, “Respawn Skullcrab”, promises that “the Skullcrab returns to the beach right away”, but it is marked unused and is not for sale. That suggests the general product replaced it. The notes do not list which bosses have a sign, so look for one near the Skullcrab before paying.

How do you beat the Skullcrab?

The developer has not published its attacks or health, but Igro Mir shows a way to fight it under-geared, in videos posted on October 30 and 31 (unverified):

1. Get above it. Climb one of the stone pillars or rocks around its round arena, and wait for it to come to you.
2. Hit it from up there. While you stand on top it can hardly touch you. They took it to almost half health this way, and say only the odd blow lands.
3. Run when it changes shell. The crab sheds its shell and the old one explodes. That sent them straight back to spawn the first time. Get well away from it as soon as it happens, and the blast will not reach you.
4. Climb back and finish it. The later video ends with the crab beaten this way, at around level 280.

They add that most enemies share the weakness, though some climb up after you or knock you off, as the Cursed Owl did.

How does the Captain Blackpowder duel work?

Walk up to him in Beach Town once you are level 300. A V4.5 follow-up post fixed the duel starting with you stuck in his ship’s deck. He is the Beach’s version of Warden Alder in the Jungle: same format, higher level, same rewards structure.

Your first win gives an Ability Rune and 10 Weapon, Armor and Mount Tier Scrolls. That one-time payout is the reason to do the fight at all.

After that, you can rematch him every 30 minutes for two chances per win:

• 1 in 75 for another Ability Rune.
• 1 in 100 for the Godly Anchor Blade.

Rematches are a slow way to farm. Even winning every 30 minutes without a break, you would average one extra rune per 37 hours or so, so treat them as something to do when the timer happens to be up. How many players have beaten them?

The badges (“Defeat the Skull Crab!” and “Defeat Captain Blackpowder!”) were created on October 24, 2026, about 16 hours before the update. A week on, on October 31:

Note the badge spells it “Skull Crab” while the patch notes write “Skullcrab”. They are the same boss.

To put the level 300 gate in context, the Level 300 badge itself had been earned 13,041 times by then, so Blackpowder’s 9,089 wins come to about 70% of that. The leveling guide has the full table, and the Beach page covers the area around both bosses.
