Where does a Poly Loot beginner guide start?
A Poly Loot beginner guide starts at spawn with Captain Mara. You pick up your first sword, a cutscene shows the King Chicken holding your friend, and your first hunt sends you after the chickens and sheep nearby. Turn that hunt in, choose your first stat, and the rest of the quest chain opens up.
Three separate playthroughs show the same opening, so you can treat it as fixed:
- Meet Captain Mara. In AccelToWin’s run, the opening dialogue says the captain found you out cold and the doctor patched you up.
- Pick up your first sword. All three creators get a sword within the first minute. Gravy Live takes it from a warrior NPC standing at spawn.
- Watch the boss cutscene. The game tells you the King Chicken has captured your friend and that you need to get stronger to save them.
- Hunt chickens and sheep. These are the first targets near spawn. Pick up what they drop and equip anything better.
- Report back to the captain. Turning in the first hunt paid XP and coins in both the ItsChalls and Gravy Live runs, and level-ups ask you to pick a stat to increase.
That opening is also the short answer to “how Poly Loot works”. The official Roblox description breaks the game into four steps: defeat monsters, collect loot, equip better gear, then level up and upgrade your stats. Every system below feeds one of those four steps.
| Step from the official description | What it means in your first hour |
|---|---|
| Defeat monsters | Chickens and sheep first, then pigs and wolves |
| Collect loot | Pick up drops; spare items break down into upgrade shards |
| Equip better gear | Swap in stronger weapons and armor as they drop |
| Level up and upgrade stats | One stat choice on each level-up |
Should you take every quest before you start grinding?
Yes. Collect every quest you can reach before you farm anything. Dannie’s beginner walkthrough puts this first: you can hold as many story quests as you like, and because they interlink you earn extra progress along the way. ItzVexo gives the same advice, says quest givers are spread around the map, and confirms you can accept several quests at the same time.
After the first hunt, the next requests send you after pigs and wolves. Take them seriously. Gravy Live and AccelToWin both died to pigs early on and had to kite them around to win, so do not charge into a group on your starting sword.

If you want to level faster, the leveling guide lists every EXP source that more than one player has confirmed.
Which stat should you pick on your first level-ups?
Pick Damage. ItzVexo calls Damage the priority because stronger hits end fights before enemies can hurt you. Gravy Live takes Damage on every level-up, and ItsChalls recommends Damage or Defense. AccelToWin tried Health first and switched to Damage on the next level.
The best stats page compares the three choices and covers what is known about resetting them.
How do you get stronger gear early on?
Upgrading beats grinding with the same sword. The early gear loop has four parts:
- Equip what drops. Enemies drop weapons and armor. Gravy Live picked up an axe, a vest and boots in the first quarter hour, and AccelToWin got a hammer from a pig. When something better appears, equip it.
- Break down the rest. Gravy Live and ItzVexo both turn unwanted gear into shards, and ItzVexo tells players to pick up every drop, even weak ones, for that reason.
- Upgrade at the upgrade station. Upgrades cost shards and coins, so ItsChalls suggests saving both for the gear you actually use.
- Reroll tiers. Weapon tier scrolls reroll the tier grade on an item, and ItsChalls uses tier scrolls on armor and mounts too. The tier scrolls guide explains the system.
The crafting station makes items directly. ItsChalls shows bone swords, scythes, pickaxes, bows and armor in the crafting menu, and Dannie’s videos craft pickaxes and a bow there.
One more habit: open the Index. ItzVexo and AccelToWin both claim rewards from it as they fill it in, and ItzVexo uses it to see which enemy drops which item. The drops page explains how to read it.
What free rewards should you claim right away?
Claim the free rewards before you spend anything:
| Free reward | What players reported | Seen in |
|---|---|---|
| Daily rewards | Claimable from the first session | ItsChalls, Gravy Live, AccelToWin |
| Playtime rewards | Pay out while you keep playing | ItsChalls, AccelToWin |
| Social Rewards boosts | Coin Boosts for joining the Roblox group and favoriting the game; Damage, Defense and Luck Boosts for joining the Discord and following | Official Update 1.5 notes; AccelToWin, ItzVexo |
| Code box | Sits at the bottom of the Social Rewards tab | ItsChalls, ItzVexo, Dexerto, UrGameTips |
Social Rewards are permanent boosts, and the official notes say you claim them at the Social Rewards sign or in the Rewards menu. This page leaves out the code list on purpose, because codes expire quickly — the codes page tracks which ones still work.
Where is the Poly Loot Discord, and is it official?
The official game data links to discord.gg/46CMwEaskz. The server carries the game’s name, and its invite comes from Spark, the same account that owns the game’s Roblox group, so this is the developer’s own server. It had 6,078 members and 1,181 online on September 18, 2026, and new members land in a verification channel first. Its announcements channel carries the developer’s patch notes, which the update log summarises. Joining it also counts toward the Social Rewards boosts. At least one player asked for this link under a guide video because they could not find it in game.
Can you play on Xbox or on mobile?
Yes. The official Roblox description lists Desktop, Mobile and Console. It does not name individual consoles, so “Console” is the confirmed wording. The official patch notes give controls for all three: use your ability with Q on keyboard, the ability button on mobile or LT on controller; open the weapon Quick Switch wheel with R or D-Pad Up; open the Emote Wheel with T or D-Pad Down; and press L3 on controller to toggle Shift Lock. Each server holds up to eight players, and the other players in it matter. Gravy Live ran into PvP in the first session, and Dannie warns that other players can hunt you down while you farm, especially at low level.
When are you ready for the King Chicken?
This is the first boss the story points you at, and the opening cutscene makes beating it your goal. Official badge data shows its badge (“Defeat the King Chicken boss!”) has been earned 153,296 times, with a 39.7% win rate listed by Roblox. That is the highest count of any boss badge in the game, well ahead of the Spider at 37,127.

The shop also lists a “Respawn King Chicken” developer product for 29 Robux. For what comes after the first boss, see the update log, which shows when each new area and boss arrived.
